Three ways to verify
Option 1 — Meta tag
We give you a <meta> tag. Add it to your site's <head>. Click Verify.
Option 2 — DNS TXT record
Add a TXT record to your domain. Click Verify (DNS propagation can take a few minutes).
Option 3 — File upload
Download a hellocivic-verification.txt file and upload it to your site root. Click Verify.
Pick whichever is easiest given your hosting setup.
What if I can't verify?
You can still run on-demand scans on unverified sites — just no scheduling, no badge, no AI assistance. If you're auditing a site you don't control (an inherited project, a third-party vendor), that's the workflow you want anyway.
