Deleting your account

How to permanently close your account and what gets erased.

Updated

If you no longer need HelloCivic, you can permanently delete your account.

Before you delete

  • Transfer ownership of any workspace where you're the sole owner. See transferring workspace ownership. Otherwise the workspace gets deleted along with you.
  • Download anything you want to keep β€” invoices, scan reports, remediated PDFs.
  • Cancel paid subscriptions so you're not billed after deletion.

How to delete

Open Profile β†’ Danger zone β†’ Delete account. We'll ask you to type your email to confirm and require a fresh password (or 2FA code).

What gets erased

  • Your profile, avatar, sessions, and connected accounts.
  • Any workspace where you were the sole owner, including all of its data.
  • Your audit-log entries are anonymized (action retained, attribution removed).

What's retained

  • Invoices and tax records (legal requirement, typically 7 years).
  • Aggregated, non-personally-identifying analytics.
Deletion is irreversible

There's no undo. If you change your mind later you'll need to start over with a fresh account.
