Deleting your account
How to permanently close your account and what gets erased.
Updated
If you no longer need HelloCivic, you can permanently delete your account.
Before you delete
- Transfer ownership of any workspace where you're the sole owner. See transferring workspace ownership. Otherwise the workspace gets deleted along with you.
- Download anything you want to keep β invoices, scan reports, remediated PDFs.
- Cancel paid subscriptions so you're not billed after deletion.
How to delete
Open Profile β Danger zone β Delete account. We'll ask you to type your email to confirm and require a fresh password (or 2FA code).
What gets erased
- Your profile, avatar, sessions, and connected accounts.
- Any workspace where you were the sole owner, including all of its data.
- Your audit-log entries are anonymized (action retained, attribution removed).
What's retained
- Invoices and tax records (legal requirement, typically 7 years).
- Aggregated, non-personally-identifying analytics.
Deletion is irreversible
There's no undo. If you change your mind later you'll need to start over with a fresh account.
